Tribute Foundation Scholarship Program

Funeral service is one of the most rewarding careers a person can choose and can be seen repeatedly by the effect this service has on those grieving and in need. The funeral director provides quiet support to the grieving family during a time of great emotional stress and attends to all aspects of the funeral service in a professional and caring way.

In 2005, the Tribute Foundation launched two major initiatives:

A recruitment initiative, Searching for a Career That’s 6 Feet Above All the Rest, to raise public awareness of funeral service as a noble and rewarding career – a unique career – one that is like no other; and
A long-term longitudinal retention initiative to track and analyze:

  » Demographic changes in today’s funeral service worker;
  » Lifestyle and cultural shifts within this group; and
  » Changes to the profession in general.

Developed to enhance these two ongoing initiatives, and at the discretion of the Tribute Foundation Scholarship Committee, four (4) - $3,000 scholarships may be awarded based on the criteria listed below.
